ABOUT US
Our History
York Insignia Ltd was founded by Nigel Smallpage in York, England. Nigel was a Pilot in the RAF during the 2nd World war and flew Spitfires.
After the war he founded Hunter & Smallpage which was a department store in York. Heraldry was a great passion and he set up a small department dedicated to his hobby Heraldic Artistry.
Nigel employed Olive Snaith to run the business and on his retirement, Olive took over the business taking great pride in growing and developing it.
Olive has retired now but the business is still family run and continues to create and manufacture Royal Arms for those granted the rights by the Royal family, family coats of arms, and shields/plaques for schools, armed forces and sports clubs and myriad organisations globally.
With over 70 years experience we are delighted to be still serving our customers and their families as they connect with their Ancestry and Heritage.
